What does it mean to be an Ofsted registered childminder

Any person who is said to be a Childminder is an Early years professional that works within a Home based setting providing childcare. When a Childminder is Ofsted Registered,this means that they have been certified by OFSTED having achieved a certificate in Home based childcare and Completed Paediatric First aid training. Childminders are also only certified subject to satisfactory Police and Health checks.

Childminders, like nurseries and schools are required to follow the Statutory requiremnts set out in the EYFS curriculum. The standard to which these are undertaken are regularly inspected by OFSTED.
